Brooksville, Florida
Some courses you play. This one you remember.
From the Green/Red layout (challenging, par rating 169) to the Turf/Blue layout (very challenging, scoring avg +20) — there's a layout for your skill level, and a reason to return.
Built on a former limestone quarry, Olympus racks up 40 floors of cumulative elevation gain on the pro layout — sheer quarry walls over 50 feet, cliff drops, and climbs that will burn your legs unlike anything else in flat Florida.
Every Sunday at 3:00pm. $15 to play — $8 greens fee, $5 payout pool, plus ace pot and closest-to-pin. Open to members and non-members. Random draw partners.
Gate and pro shop open 8am–4:30pm daily. Public play Tuesday through Sunday. Mondays reserved for members. Book your tee time online before you arrive.
"Olympus is a top 5 course in my book. It's really good. The property is incredible, the shots are demanding but fair. It's a great course. A really, really great course."
"When I played it for the first time last year it was in my top 15. Now I would put it in my top 5 or 7. I really like it. Everything is fair."
"When I played it the first time — there's no other course that I've played like it."
"There's a magic — there's an aura. It's peaceful, it's quiet, it's magnificent, it's beautiful, it's dangerous. You feel like you're in a dream or on a different planet."
Come see what they're talking about.

"We want a clubhouse there one day, to where people can come, hang out, get food, get drinks, relax, and watch disc golf. They don't even have to throw a disc. We just want to share disc golf."
Paul McBeth · Co-Owner
A former limestone quarry with sheer cliff drops, tight wooded fairways, and terrain that makes pros compare it to their top five courses in the world.
Every first-time visitor has the same reaction. The course description doesn't prepare you for the scale of what you see when you walk to hole 1.
The pro layout racks up 40 floors of cumulative elevation gain, roughly 400–480 feet of climbing across 18 holes. Expect burning legs, multiple cliff drops, and sheer quarry walls over 50 feet.
The shortest layout averages 2h40m. The hardest nearly 3.5 hours. Plan your day accordingly and bring water.
Florida's best secret: perfect disc golf weather from October through April. Summers are sweltering. Visit in the cool season.

The elevated tee platforms, log-railed walkways, switchback staircases, and spectator benches you'll find throughout Olympus weren't built by a contractor. They were built by Danny McDonnell , a volunteer who gave his time and craft to this course simply because he loves it.
Every plank, every log railing, every staircase cut into the quarry hillside is his work. It's the kind of contribution that no budget line item can produce — and it's part of what makes Olympus feel unlike any other course in the country.
"This is already happening — people investing in Olympus not because they have to, but because they want to."
From a mountain biker's tip-off to a $1.2 million rescue — the story of Olympus is as dramatic as the course itself.
Designer Gregg Hosfeld — himself a former disc golf world champion — discovered the abandoned limestone quarry through a mountain biker named Brad Augsburger. After a dozen scouting trips through thick sawgrass, he designed and built the original 18-hole course, later expanded to 27 holes. That first January, Hosfeld narrowly beat 7-time world champion Ken Climo.
At the height of the housing bubble, owner John Benefield sold the property without warning. The new owners had no interest in disc golf. The course was abandoned. The disc golf world mourned one of its most beloved properties.
Mike Barnett of Sun King Discs spent years calling the new landowners, slowly increasing his offer to use the land for a single weekend. He finally succeeded, launching Throw Down the Mountain — an event that would become one of disc golf's most coveted tournament spots. Spots sold out in minutes. Players called it a shrine.
When the landowner's widow received a real estate offer, she kept her promise to Barnett and gave disc golf 72 hours to match it. Barnett reached out to Paul McBeth — the greatest disc golfer alive — who called MLB pitcher Dylan Cease. In three chaotic weeks, they completed a $1.2 million purchase and saved the property for disc golf forever.
After clearing a frivolous lawsuit, McBeth and Cease officially opened Olympus Disc Golf Course — named for the mythical home of the Greek gods, reflecting both the demanding nature of the course and McBeth's personal disc line (Hades, Athena, Zeus). In its first full year, it ranked #80 in the world on UDisc, #1 in Florida, and hosted the DGPT season opener.

There is no on-site camping at Olympus, but Moonlight Meadows is a fantastic nearby option — a campground and disc golf course combo just a short drive away. It's also known as a great glow course. If you've never played glow disc golf before, it's a lot of fun with friends under the lights. A perfect way to make a full weekend of it.

You may play in the rain. We do not offer rain checks. Cancel your tee time at least one hour before your slot. If staff asks you to come off the course due to lightning, please do so immediately.

Olympus is a challenging course by design — there is no easy layout here. First-timers should expect a physical and technical challenge. That said, the experience is unlike anything else in Florida, and most people leave wanting to come back.
Yes. There's a large on-site lot with plenty of parking. No need to worry about finding a spot.
Absolutely. Spectators are always welcome at Olympus free of charge. During tournament weekends especially, it's worth showing up just to watch the pros navigate the terrain.
Plan for 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on your pace and the layout. The elevation and terrain slow things down compared to a flat course. Don't show up an hour before closing and expect to finish.
The pro shop carries some snacks. There is no running water on the course for drinking — bring your own water, and bring enough. Restroom facilities on-site are porta-potties. We're actively working on improving amenities this year.
October through April is ideal. Florida winters are mild, the course is at its best, and you'll avoid the summer heat. Summers are hot and humid — playable, but demanding. The pros play here in late February for a reason.
Generally speaking, no. There are many sets of stairs throughout the course and you'd need to carry your cart up and down steep climbs 5-10 times per round. Not impossible, but not advised. Pack light and be ready to move on foot.
All players and walking guests must sign a liability waiver before stepping on the course. Sign digitally before you arrive or at the pro shop when you check in.
